Stena was founded in 1939 as a trading company by Dan's father, Sten. Dan took over in 1983 and now owns 51% of the company; his siblings Stefan Sten Olsson and Madeleine Olsson Eriksson own 24.5% and 12.5%, respectively Madeleine's kids Gustav and Marie each own 6% and have seats on different board in the firm.
