About Me

Weijian Shan is the chairman of PAG, an Asia-focused private equity firm with $50 billion in assets under management. Before founding PAG's private equity business in 2010, he worked for 12 years at TPG Capital and was the U.S. private equity giant's top China dealmaker. At TPG, Shan spearheaded the first purchase of a state-owned Chinese bank by a foreign investor. In 2022, Shan became an independent director of Alibaba. He also served on the boards of Wilmar International, Bank of China (Hong Kong), Baosteel and Lenovo.
