Vasily Anisimov is a Russian-born billionaire who made his first fortune in non-ferrous metals trading. Later he became a partner of billionaires Alisher Usmanov and Andrei Skoch, before selling out to move into real estate. He also has interests in African uranium mining. Anisimov was a head of the Russian Judo Federation for 12 years, until October 2022; its first vice president is Putin's friend Arkady Rotenberg. He renounced his Russian citizenship in 2022 and now holds a Croatian passport.
