Lee Hae-jin is a cofounder of Naver, South Korea's No. 1 search engine. In 2018, he stepped down from Naver's board but remained its global investment officer, focusing on the company's expansion. In 2025, he returned as chairman to drive the company's AI business. In 2021, Naver and SoftBank agreed to a joint venture, taking control of their respective subsidiaries Line and Yahoo Japan. In November 2025, Naver said its payment arm, Naver Financial, will acquire crypto exchange operator Dunamu in a stock swap that values the combined entity at $13.6 billion.
