John Coustas is the chairman and CEO of Athens, Greece-based shipping firm Danaos Corporation. His father Dimitris Coustas (d. 2013) founded the company in 1972. John Coustas succeeded his father as CEO in 1987 and took Danaos public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006. He owns just over 50% of the company's stock. He also serves as deputy chairman of the board of international marine insurance company The Swedish Club.
