Femi Otedola is a Nigerian billionaire who made his first fortune in commodities before selling his shares in Forte Oil to invest in the energy business. In 2025, Otedola sold his majority stake in Geregu Power, a power generation business, pocketing roughly $750 million. He had previously sold down his stake in Geregu, which once exceeded 95%, to bring on institutional investors. He retains a 5% stake in the Lagos-based company. He also owns properties in Lagos, Dubai, London and Monaco, and holds shares in Zenith Bank and FBN Holdings.
