About Me

Amy Wyss's father, Swiss billionaire Hansjoerg Wyss, founded medical equipment firm Synthes in the 1970s, where she worked for years. Johnson & Johnson acquired Synthes in 2012 for $19.7 billion in cash and stock. Amy Wyss received a portion of the proceeds from the sale. A 2014 U.S. Senate investigation into offshore tax evasion, which did not implicate the Wyss family, revealed her fortune. She founded the LOR Foundation in 2007 to improve the quality of life for rural communities in the rural Mountain West.
