Indian-born plastics tycoon, Aloke Lohia, is the younger brother of Sri Prakash Lohia, one of Indonesia's richest. The Bangkok resident runs the $15.4 billion (2024 revenue) Indorama Ventures, the world's largest producer of PET resins by capacity. To expand its global footprint, Indorama has been on an acquisition spree with a string of acquisitions since 2014. Bullish on his country of origin, Lohia has a joint venture with India's Dhunseri Petrochem to make polyester resin in eastern India. The family holding outfit Indorama Resources is investing $1.5 billion globally to expand recycling capacity and sustainable production.
